The Japanese Martial Arts Center's4th Anniversary was celebrated Saturday, June 26th! There were demonstrations in Judo, Iaido, and Jujutsu, rank graduations, and a potluck barbecue.

ITAMA would like to remind all SMAA members to please renew your 2010 membership.

The Shudokan Martial Arts Association (SMAA) is an international coalition of enthusiasts dedicated to promoting traditional Japanese budo and bujutsu. The SMAA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, is headed by an elite group of high-ranking Japanese and Western instructors whose backgrounds encompass many decades of studying and teaching the traditional martial arts and ways of Japan.

Welcome to itama.org, an internet hub that provides information about the Traditional Martial Arts and directs interested parties to experienced, qualified instructors.

Sifu Douglas Lawrence and his Internal Kung Fu classes are located at East Lansing Hannah Community Center. He can be contacted at dlawrence@itama.org, and is available for private instruction in East Lansing, Michigan.

Guro Scott Vanderzee and his Modern Arnis class is located at the American Martial Arts and Fitness Academy. He can be contacted at guroscott@comcast.net.

Brad Messenger Sensei has joined up with Joel Heady Sensei, and the Nihon Jujutsu class is located at Tae Kwon Do of Mason. Messenger Sensei can be contacted at messengerb@gmail.com, and Heady Sensei can be contacted at headys@hughes.net.

Dan Holland Sensei has become an instructor at the Japanese Martial Arts Center in Arbor, Mi, where he continues to teach and study the martial arts. He is also available for private instruction in both East Lansing, Michigan and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Holland Sensei can be contacted at dholland@itama.org.
